A week before my first Tulane football broadcast, New Orleans was hit by Hurricane Ida. It displaced me and the entire Tulane athletics department to Birmingham, where we would live for nearly a month. Week one's home opener against Oklahoma was shifted to Norman, and none of my broadcast team could make the trip. While I scrambled to find replacements, the time I had to prepare for the broadcast itself was almost nonexistent.
